Greece trip, Thanksgiving 2021

Over Thanksgiving 2021, blasting old school Bollywood, five girls took Greece up by a storm

In October of 2021, we drove out east, blown away from the influx of colors and the cool wind of winter around the corner.

East coast road trip, fall 2021

love is the 4am drives to the airport, barely any light out, as bleary eyed daddy drives in silence

love is the hand on your forehead when you you're sick, the unasked doses of warm food and warmer comfort

love is the smell of clean laundry, the pairs of socks found, the towel and pajamas already set out for you

love is the always brimming plateful of amma's food, regardless of the time, regardless of whether you said you were coming home for dinner or not

love is the actions in absence of words, the things that are there without you noticing, and oftentimes you get so used to it that you forget. Love is there in unexpected ways, the ways that might sound foreign to others but is home to you.

After 29 something years, my mom got celebrate Vinakya Chavati with the family in India.

Vinakya Chavati is to honor Lord Ganesha, to remind ourselves that we can overcome any obstacle in our way, to celebrate with our families and all the ways we stand by each other, and to cherish the special moments and traditions together.

My grandma, uncles, aunts, cousins - even our little pupper Cady - all came together to take part in age old traditions like drying our hair with aromatic sambrani, gather ayurvedic plants, hand build puja items, and cook enough food to feed a village. It was a beautiful reminder that no matter the distance nor the time, traditions and family are the common thread that run through me, you, us - making us all whole

That's ✨magical✨
